Since we've launched our new web site, we're getting some great feedback from our viewers, but you also have some questions. We understand you might not find things you were used to finding before. To help you find your way around, we compiled a list of FAQs specifically for FOX2now.com.

Q: How do I get back to the homepage? As you are navigating the site, you can always get back to the homepage by clicking on the FOX2now logo in the upper left-hand corner of your browser.

Q: How do I make FOX2now.com my homepage? If you have Internet Explorer go to tools, click on Internet options and type "http://www.FOX2now.com". If you have Firefox, go to tools, and options and type "http://www.FOX2now.com".

Q: Why won't the video play on my computer? You have to download Flash 8 or newer to allow the video to play. It is an easy, free download that takes up little space on your computer. Many news and entertainment web sites use Flash 8, so it's a good video player to have if you visit multiple web sites on a daily basis. To get the player, click . You also have to make sure the Flash is enabled in your browser. You can do this under the tools and options menus.

Q: Where are You Paid For It, Contact 2, FOX Files, the Jaco Report, and St. Louis' Most Wanted and other franchise stories? Click on "News" in the red bar at the top of the page, and you'll see our franchise stories in the drop down menu. Click on the franchise you would like to see. You'll fond more information about each on-air personality, contact information, and an archive of stories for each section.

Q: I keep hearing about blogs on your newscasts. What is blogging? Where do I sign up? "Blogging" is a term short for "Web Log" (blog). It's an opinion forum, message board or a way to keep a public journal on the Web. People use blogs to talk about community issues or popular topics that happen on our newscasts. To participate, just click on "Blogs" in the red bar at the top of the page.


Q: How do I sign up my School for the "School Watch" closing list? Go to our school, business, and church closings page and fill out the registration form. Click here to register

Q: I missed my favorite show or news broadcast. Can I get a copy of it? It is FOX 2's policy not to provide copies of our broadcasts. If you missed anything that aired on our station, (Featured Report, First Birthday, Top Story, etc.) we suggest you call this company. They can provide you with a videotape or digital version of your story: Media Watch: Fill out their form or call 314-646-7933. www.media-watch.tv.
Q: I am having trouble with the sound coming from my television. I'm hearing a narrative voice, maybe even in Spanish. What should I do? FOX 2 began providing SAP (Secondary Audio Program) on some programs. This additional service consists of a narrative voice describing events on the screen for viewers who are visually impaired. When used this way the service is called Descriptive Video Service or DVS. SAP can be used to provide a second language such as Spanish on some programs. Your TV remote will allow you to modify the Set Up menu on your television receiver and de-select SAP if you don't want these services. Please consult your TV receiver User's Instructions as activating or disabling SAP differs with each TV set type.

Q: I'm having trouble with my signal on Charter Cable. What can I do to fix it? Visit the support service section of the Charter Communications website here.

Q: How do I contact the newsroom with a tip? Just call our newsroom at 314-644-7531 for general news tips and breaking news stories. You can also e-mail us by clicking the red Contact Us tab, then selecting "Breaking News, Tips" in the drop down menu when filling out the form.

Q: I want to submit a report for Contact 2 with Elliot Weiler or You Paid For It with Elliott Davis. What do I do? Just click on "Contact Us" in the red bar at the top of the page and choose the recipient from the list on the right hand side.

Q: I want to express my opinion about something I saw on FOX 2. How can I tell you? You can call our main office at 314-213-2222 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. weekdays or send us an e-mail through the Contact Us page.

Q: I would like a FOX 2 personality to speak at my special event. What are the steps I need to take to make this happen? If you are interested in one of FOX 2's personalities to speak or appear at your event, please click on the "Contact Us" tab, then click on the story that says "Personality Speaking Engagements". This must be done no later than six weeks prior to your event! If you have any questions, please contact Sean White in FOX 2 Promotions at 314-644-7402.

Q: I am having trouble getting good reception on my television. How can I fix this problem? Our broadcast tower is located in Sappington, Missouri. Please point your television antenna in that direction to receive the best possible reception. You can also subscribe to cable or satellite TV--both carry our television signal.

Q: I'm hearing all this talk about HDTV. What is it? Is FOX 2 broadcasting in HDTV? In short, HDTV gives you better sound and video quality, more programming options, and the potential for using your TV in new and exciting ways. On November 1, 1999, FOX 2 became the first station in St. Louis to broadcast as a Digital TV station! Q: During FOX 2 News at 5pm, Dave Murray thanks viewers who call in with the current temperature in their neighborhood. How can I become one of those "weather watchers"? Just call the Weather Department between 4:15pm and 4:45pm Monday through Friday with the current temperature in your neighborhood. The phone number is 314-644-7581.
