A Jefferson County woman is recovering after police say she was shot by her girlfriend late Tuesday evening. The incident happened around 8:30 in the 6600 block of Jenny Court in Cedar Hill, Missouri.
Police say the suspect set the home on fire and shot his girlfriend with a shot gun. The man then shot himself once in the head.
The female victim was hit in the torso and taken to an area hospital. Her wound is non-life threatening. The male was pronounced dead on the scene.
Neighbors tell reporters the man poured kerosene throughout the house and set it on fire.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
