Exclusive Video: Thieves Target Cars With Expensive Electronics
CHESTERFIELD, MO (KTVI-FOX2now.com) - A rash of thefts in West County with what appears to have one common denominator. All ripoff's apparently come from cars that were left unlocked. The most popular items that thieves are looking for are I-Pod's, G-P-S devices, and other electronics. Police say it's happening in cars outside of homes and even in front of stores. It's probably more wide spread than police even know because many people won't report a pair of stolen sunglasses or DVD's.

In one particular case, a trio of thieves are suspected of taking a purse from an unlocked car at the Target store in the Chesterfield Valley, then going on a shopping spree. The two women and one man were seen on surveillance video in Hermann, Missouri shopping at a Walgreen's store. They even bought Girl Scout cookies in Troy, Missouri with stolen checks from the purse.

If you have had anything stolen you need to contact Chesterfield Police so they get a better idea of how widespread this problem actually is.
