STEELVILLE, Mo. -
A Columbia man has died after jumping off a cliff in eastern Missouri's Crawford County and striking his head. The Missouri State Water Patrol said that 25-year-old Garrick Holmquest landed Saturday afternoon in about 6 feet of water in Huzzah Creek. Bystanders pulled him from the water.
He was taken to St. John's Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur, but did not survive. An autopsy will be performed to determine a cause of death.
