St. Louis Blues player David Backes said "It's for a cause that I am really passionate about." He adopted his own dog Marty from Stray Rescue. He added "My official charity is the St. Charles humane society."
Grimm explained "Ten years ago an event like this would never, never happen but now it's politically correct to have events like this and it's a good thing for the homeless animals. It's a good thing for rescue and all shelters and it's a good thing for all of St. Louis."
