(KTVI - FOX2now.com) - A St. Clair County teenager is killed in an accident involving a dump truck. The 13-year-old, identified by family as Ryan Hennemann, was crushed when a truck hauling gravel tipped over as the driver tried to lower the truck's bucket near Stolle Road and Triple Lakes Road near Dupo. Hennemann was pronounced dead on the scene. He was near the truck reportedly because the driver had offered to pay him and another teen for help with the load.

"Him and his friend Ben were gong to help some guy unload some gravel from a truck," said Larry Robinson, the father of one of Ryan's friends.

Ryan Hennemann was only 13 but had dozens of friends who loved him. Many of them returned to the scene on Saturday where their good friend was killed in the bizarre accident.

Investigators in St. Clair County believe the driver of the truck stopped and asked for help unloading some of his gravel which was shifting around in the back.

"The guy offered to pay them each $5 to help him unload the rock and then something tragic happens," said Robinson.

Friends of Hennemann say he was on his way to see his girlfriend.

"I just can't believe it happened," said Robinson.

Friends planned on returning to the scene of the accident on Sunday for a candlelight vigil.

The truck's driver was taken into custody at the scene by St. Clair County Sheriff's Deputies. Investigators say the driver of the truck had a suspended license and an outstanding warrant from California.
