HAZELWOOD, MO (KTVI - FOX2now.com) -
Police in Hazelwood say they've arrested a man who may be responsible for exposing himself to girls and women across the metro. The case broke Wednesday when Hazelwood police arrested Kevin Hake, 30, for allegedly exposing himself to a Hazelwood West High School student, and trying to lure her into his car.
Police investigators call him sick and someone who needs help. Now, the Hazelwood man is charged with exposing himself to two young women including a 15 year old girl. And there may be more possible victims.
"It's very sick, very sick individual," said Hazelwood Police Chief Carl Wolf about 30 year old Kevin Hake.
Hake is charged with two counts of second degree sexual misconduct. Police say he has admitted to exposing himself to a 15 year old girl and a 19 year old woman. Both crimes occurred in Hazelwood.
Hazelwood police say Hake has also told them that he has been exposing himself to women across St. Louis County. Sheila Dugopolski has young kids and lives near where one of the incidents happened.
"It's kind of scary to feel like your kids are actually exposed to this stuff," said Sheila.
Her nine year old daughter, Gillian Geils, added, "I'm actually really scared because I don't want to have it happen to me."
The first episode took place at Howdershell and Dunn Road near a gas station back on September 20th. Police say from his car Hake exposed himself to a 19 year old woman who was walking. Then, on Thursday of last week, investigators tell us Hake pulled up next to a 15 year old Hazelwood West High School student at Coach Way and White Birch Way.
Cops say Hake exposed himself to the teen then asked her to perform a sexual act on him. In both cases, the teens ran away and weren't hurt. Hake was arrested after the 15 year old identified him in a line up.
Chief Wolf said, "What concerns me is the first time he didn't make contact with the individual, the second time he made contact and asked for sexual favors, the third time he could have grabbed the person we don't know."
Hake's neighbor, Jean Rapa, can't believe the charges against him.
"I thought he was a nice guy, I still think he is. I'm very surprised that anything like this could happen," said Rapa.
The 19 year old got Hake's license plate last month and that helped police track him down initially. Hake was arrested Tuesday night.
Police in Webster Groves interviewed Hake Wednesday in connection with a string of cases there where a man exposed himself to kids walking home from school. But Wednesday night Webster Groves police told us Hake is not their suspect.
If you have any information about Hake, call Hazelwood Police.
