Heat Related Deaths Reported In St. Louis County
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI-FOX2now.com) - For those who are counting, Friday marks day 10 of the heat wave as even more scorching temperatures in the forecast. Saturday is expected to be one of the hottest days of the year. The heat claimed two more lives Thursday. The extreme heat is also impacting activities all over town this weekend.

The St. Louis County Health Department says there have been two heat-related deaths in the past week. A 75-year-old man was found dead in his Maplewood home on Thursday. The medical examiner says the man's front room air conditioner was not working. The temperature inside the man's home was 96.4 degrees.

The second victim, a 62-year-old Hillsdale woman, was also discovered Thursday. Neighbors had said the woman hadn't been seen since Monday. Her home did not have an air conditioner.

The City of St. Louis tried to get the start of Saturday's Cardinals game pushed back later in the day so fans wouldn't have to sit in the sweltering heat. The Cardinals say there are no plans to change the game time. Additional emergency response crews will be stationed around the stadium for heat issues.

Forecasters say a cool front is expected to move through on Sunday morning, bringing lower temperatures and humidity levels.
