SCOTT AIRFORCE BASE, IL (FOX2now.com) -
Tensions were high at military bases around the country as the massacre played out in Texas. The bases near St. Louis didn't go into lock-down because America is at war, so security is already high. As it became clear that this was just an isolated incident and not a coordinated effort, there was a certain sense of relief. Military bases are generally close knit groups and so this incident was watched very closely as it played out.
At Fort Leonard Wood in central Missouri there were no lock-downs, just plenty of worried people.
The worry was magnified because a large number of the soldiers stationed at Ft. Hood likely spent time at Ft. Leonard Wood at some point in their careers.
