NORTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI-FOX2now.com) - A major roadway reopens in north St. Louis County following a shooting and a deadly accident. Lucas & Hunt was closed overnight while police investigated a shooting turned car crash. According to Missouri Highway Patrol, around 11 p.m. Monday night there was a shootout between people in two cars. It started at Jenwood and Lucas & Hunt and went all the way to the entrance of Lutheran North High school. As the two vehicles involved in the shootout headed southbound on Lucas & Hunt, one of the cars crashed into a car driven by a 19 year old innocent driver that car was traveling in the northbound lanes.

The 19 year old was taken to a nearby hospital. His injuries are not serious. The car traveling southbound rolled several times before coming to a stop off the side of the road.

There were three people in the car. The driver a 40 year old man was killed. Police tell us he had been shot, but they are not sure if that is what killed him. A 32 year old man and a 34 year old woman in the car with him are also hospitalized. They are unconscious. Police do not believe they were shot. Authorities are now looking for a light colored or silver Lincoln with Illinois temp tags. They believe the people in that vehicle are involved in the shooting.
