MADISON COUNTY, IL (KTVI-FOX2now.com) -
Police in Granite City are investigating an fatal accident involving a Madison County Transit bus. The accident happened around 7:30am Tuesday at the intersection of Illinois Highway 203 and Venice Ave. Police say the car pulled out into the intersection and collided with the bus.
The car was driven by Emerald E Dawes, 86 of Granite City. Police say Dawes was a long time barber in Granite City and also served as Alderman during the 1970's and 1980's.
The bus driver and two occupants of the bus were also transported with minor injuries.
