DOWNTOWN ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI-FOX2now.com)—
On Monday, Metro temporarily restored about one-third of the bus services that were suspended at the end of March. About 100 drivers and mechanics of the 430 employees who were laid off as a result of the cuts in routes will be rehired. The restoration was possible because of federal grant money and $12 million in federal stimulus money allocated by the state. The state funding is expected to support the restored services for about 10 months.
