WEBSTER GROVES, MO (KTVI - FOX2now.com) -
There are new developments in the case of a man who is allegedly exposing himself to young girls in the Webster Groves area. Since the story was first reported Wednesday on FOX 2, the number of cases involving this suspect has doubled. It also appears the suspect has been seen in more than one community. Investigators are becoming increasingly concerned about the suspect. Webster Groves police now say there have been a total of five reported cases of a man exposing himself to young girls between the ages of 8 and 14-years-old.
Three of the girls attend Avery Elementary School the other two are from Hixson Middle School.
Webster Groves Police Captain Mike Nelson says the suspect follows the same pattern in each incident. "Normally he pulls up to them with his window unrolled and asks for directions. And then what happens? And like I said, then the girls walk toward the car and he asks them for directions. They see that he's naked from the waist down and they run away."
A letter was sent home with all Webster Grove students today warning parents of the incidents.
There is also concern in Brentwood. Police say there was an incident yesterday where a man exposed himself to an elementary school girl. Police believe the same suspect may be responsible for all of the episodes.
The suspect is white, in his 20s or 30s, and has short blond to light brown hair. The man is driving a black, newer model mid-size car possibly with silver or white stripes.
