A Festus, Missouri man is in police custody for the murder of a man in Ste. Genevieve County. Charges have been filed against Mark Taylor in the murder of Danny Dotson. Police say they believe Dotson was killed at his Festus mobile home before his body was dumped in rural Ste. Genevieve.
The body was found in the back of a pickup truck in a remote area of northern Ste. Genevieve County. The suspect lives about a mile away. Rebecca Bieser found the gruesome scene at the end of her driveway on Bieser Lane where it intersects with Charter Church Road. The body of a man was laying on the tailgate of his pickup truck.
Rebecca's first concern was for children would be passing by soon on a bus on their way to school. "The paramedics got one of those paper sheets," she says, "and they kind of surrounded him enough and my legs were covering his arm and that's how we tried to shield it from the kids. I hoped it worked."
Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff's Deputies say they believe the body and truck were there sometime between 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 a.m. Thursday.
Taylor is being held without bond.
