St. Louis Globe-Democrat To Be Revived As Online Paper
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Nearly a quarter of a century after the demise of the St. Louis Globe-Democrat, the newspaper is coming back as a web-only entity.

Plans for the revised Globe-Democrat were announced Thursday by Dan Rositano, publisher of the online newspaper.

The site, www.globe-democrat.com, is already online and will begin providing news on Dec. 8. It will be free and Readers can now start registering e-mail addresses. Rositano says breaking news, sports and other alerts can be sent to readers via e-mail, smart phone or mobile phone.

The news staff has not been announced, but Rositano says it will include names familiar to former Globe-Democrat readers.

The Globe Democrat folded on Oct. 29, 1986, after 134 years of publication.
