More local troops are heading overseas for the holidays. Families said their goodbyes to close to 185 soldiers being deployed to Iraq. The busses were loaded Wednesday afternoon.
There were plenty of hugs, kisses, and tears. The men and women are members of the army reserve unit 739th engineer mobile reserve bridge company. as you can tell from their unit's title they build bridges. But they'll be doing that in one of the most dangerous places in the world.
For some this is the second time they've been to Iraq for others it's the first trip. They'll be gone for about 400 days. They should be home a year from this coming Christmas.
