Charges Filed In I-270 Police Chase

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI-FOX2Now.com) - A police chase in the Metro East ends on I-270 at Rt. 3 when the driver of the car being chased hit an embankment and went airborne. The chase started when officers saw a white Chevy with Indiana license plates driving erratically on 157 in Collinsville.

The Granite City Police Department are announcing charges stemming from the pursuit.

Charged by the Madison County States Attorney:
  • Joseph R Radtke a 27-year-old from Valpear Indiana is charged with three counts aggravated fleeing and one count unlawful possession of a controlled substance. His bond is set at $200,000.
  • Michael Sommers a 23-year-old from Chesterton Indiana is charged with one count of unlawful possession of controlled substance. His bond is set at $50,000.

Both of these subjects are currently incarcerated and the Granite City Jail. They will be transferred to another location later today.
