Two young Illinois children have been found safe following an Amber Alert. Police in Decatur, Illinois canceled the Amber Alert early Wednesday morning after the children were found in North St. Louis. The alert was issued Tuesday afternoon after Terry Antonio Smith, 4, and his one month old brother J'amarcus Upchurch were taken at gunpoint from a residential facility for dependent and neglected childrenAAccording to the Herald-Review in Decatur, one of the facilities employees was pistol-whipped and another choked during the abduction.
Authorities say the children were with two men in a car with Missouri plates. St. Louis City police found the children at a home with their mother on Pelham Avenue. Both boys are in state care and will soon be returned to Decatur.
Authorities later stopped a car on Interstate 55 in Litchfield with four people inside that may have been involved in the abduction.
