BUNKER, Mo. -
A mine accident occurred Tuesday at Doe Run's Fletcher Mine and Mill near Bunker, Mo. At approximately 1 p.m., a small fall of ground occurred, injuring one underground employee. Doe Run employees immediately provided first-aid and the Reynolds County Ambulance Service responded. The employee was transported to a St. Louis hospital via air ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
Bob Roscoe, V.P. of Mining, says, "The safety of our employees is our top priority. We appreciate the immediate action of those responding to the scene, including the local ambulance service. An internal safety investigation is being conducted. Our thoughts are with the employee for a full and speedy recovery."
