ST. LOUIS (KTVI - FOX2now.com) -
The economy is having a profound effect on everyone and Americans are becoming anxious and angry. Those conclusions come from nationally-known pollster John Zogby. Zogby says the financial meltdown may effect how we act for years to come.
The St. Louis area has sixty thousand fewer jobs now than in February 2008. Zogby says here, and elsewhere, there's a lot of status anxiety, "I'm one paycheck away, one health catastrophe away, one loss of health insurance away from moving out of the middle class into something lower. That's a real cause of anxiety. One in three, for example, who have health insurance, employer-based health insurance, are afraid of losing some or all of their benefits in the next twelve months."
Dozens of polls among thousands of people in almost every state reveal those same kind of worries about the future.
