CHESTERFIELD, MO (KTVI-FOX2now.com)—
The hit show "Glee," is a Fox network comedy about a show choir. It is winning both critical and audience acclaim, and that includes St. Louis students who know what show choir is all about. They are the 26 talented students who make up the Parkway Central High how choir, better known as "Pizzazz." And even though some of the characters on Glee are more like caricatures, the kids from Pizzazz are singing its praises.
"Glee" spends a good deal of its dramatic energy focused on the contrasts and conflicts between artsies and athletes.
In one episode, a glee kid ends up as the kicker on the football team.
In real life, the kicker of the football team at Parkway Central performs with the choir. Still it can be tough getting the same number of guys as girls.
Generally speaking, the bigger the school, the smaller the show choir because students have so many other activities to choose from.
That's why Parkway Central's Pizzazz is considered a small group, through they are quick to point out, not as small as the show choir portrayed on Glee.
