KIRKWOOD, MISSOURI—
The American Red Cross is now providing shelter for 22 residents following a fire at the Kirkwood Bluff Apartments . The fire broke out around 10:00 p.m. Friday night at the complex in the 2200 block of Timberview Road. The fire was contained to one unit however, multiple apartments sustained significant smoke damage.An elderly man was rescued from the burning building and suffered from smoke inhalation. The male victim is expected to survive. One firefighter also sustained injuries and he continues to recover. Fire Investigators say the fire started in the kitchen . The Kirkwood Fire Department has ruled the fire accidental.
