SOUTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI-FOX2now.com) - Twelve-year-old Minela Duracak watched with great interest as construction workers built a new addition to her south county home. "is it pretty cool? Yes. Are you looking forward to them finishing it? Yeah.

Minela has cerebral palsey. Crew members, braving frigid temperatures volunteered to build her, a new bedroom, full bathroom, therapy room, and ramp system including a lift for her wheelchair. John Rehagen didn't hesitate to help when he was asked to do so, "I volunteered to do it. I figure if you do something good for somebody, it will end up coming around for you when you need it."

Minela and her younger brother, Haris, check the forecast everyday making sure bad weather doesn't prevent the crew from working on the project she loves. "Because everything is going to be pink. Is that her favorite color? Yeah."

But it's not the weather that will stop progress, but rather a lack of funding. Rebuilding together St. Louis, Lowes and Hancock Place School District are sponsoring the project, but the cash is running out, "We need a financial donation. We've got the material. We need financial donations to help finish this up the way we really want to get it done for manila."

Minela's family is from Bosnia. They moved to Bella Villa eight-and-a-half years ago seeking a better life. They found that, and a whole lot more in a crew and organizations that give from the heart. "they're doing amazing job for my daughter," said Minela's father, Senad Durack. "They're doing a great job for my daughter. Thank you everybody for helping me."

The crew had hoped to have the project finished by Christmas, but the weather got in the way. Now they're hoping to wrap things up within the next two to three months.
