A hearing is set for Monday to decide if two little Jefferson county girls will be going home to their parents. They were taken on Friday after the three year-old Cheyenne Biship was found wandering naked alongside a Jefferson County Highway. Cheyenne's mother Danielle is 28 and a full time college student. She says she had been up all night working on a paper. Cheyenne woke up in the morning wanting to play.
He rmother set up the baby gate so the girls could sit in her room and watch cartoons.Danielle says she fell back asleep and Cheyenne figured out how she could climb up on a small space heater and get over the gate. She also got through a dead bolted door to get out of the house. She took off her diaper before leaving.
A passing driver found the little girl walking naked down Highway C and called police. It took two tries for police to wake up Danielle.
The Biships say they made adjustments to the gate to keep Cheyenne from getting past it, but they didn't work. The custody hearing is scheduled sometime Monday in Jefferson county.
