Federal Prosecutors Will Not Appeal Lori Drew Case Dismissal

Federal prosecutors will not appeal a judge's dismissal of Lori Drew's conviction for her role in the MySpace Hoax that led to 13-year-old Meghan Meier's suicide. The U.S. Attorney in Los Angeles says prosecutors filed notice of appeal to protect their right to continue pursuing the case against Drew. But after reviewing the case, they decided against it.

It was seen as an unprecedented prosecution of cyber-bullying but in dismissing Drew's convictions the judge said it wasn't a legal test of such crimes.

The prosecutor's decision effectively ends the case.
