NORTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI-FOX2now.com) - FOX 2 News has confirmed that a St. Louis City police officer has shot a suspect in the near Floy and Emma Streets in North St. Louis. Police say the incident started as they were chasing several suspects in a silver Impala who were believed to responsible for some armed robberies of citizens overnight. The chase ended when the vehicle crashed into a home on Floy. Police shot one of the suspects in the arm and one other part of the body after he pointed a gun them first. The suspect was conscious and breathing when taken to a local hospital.

The suspect's name was not released.

Police say one other man fled the scene and are still on the loose. The car the suspects were driving was stolen sometime Thursday morning.

No officers were injured.
