What is the true meaning of Christmas? One group wants the reason for the season returned to the forefront of our minds this holiday, and they've gotten some "Big League" help in conveying that message. Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols is helping lead their charge.Pujols was the main attraction at the Crossing Church in Chesterfield. His message: Make the spirit of giving the main attraction this Christmas.
"When we are celebrating Christmas we make sure to tell our families what Christmas is all about," Pujols says. "It's nice to get gifts, don't get me wrong, and write checks, we also want to let them know that it's about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and we want to do that all year long"
The Pujols Family Foundation, along with the group, "St. Louisans to Advent Conspiracy" want to show business leaders, educators and pastors in St. Louis how they can bring back the original meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus.
"Not concentrating on what do I need to buy or what do I need to do? Who I need to bless, think about that, who do you need to bless or what can you do for somebody?" Pujols says. "I'm telling you the rewards are going to be bigger"
