ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI - FOX2now) - Generous St. Louisans continue to reach out to people in need. Folks from the Millennium Hotel today presented a check to The Salvation Army for more than $6,200. The cash was raised at the Hotel's New Year's Even Party for the Tree of Lights Campaign. Minutes later The Salvation Army was handed another check from Pine Lawn officials. They raised the cash on Martin Luther King Junior Day for Haiti's earthquake victims.

Mayor Randy Polsely of The Salvation Army told Fox 2, "St. Louis is an amazing community who really step up and support their neighbors and co-workers in times of need." Despite all the donations The Salvation Army is still about a half million dollars short of achieving its Tree of Lights goal. Click on the link to the left to learn how you can help.
