Sanford-Brown Introduces New Virtual Training System
Sanford-Brown introduced the Simpro Virtual Trainer™ to 16 campuses across the United States. These campuses offer imaging programs in cardiovascular sonography and diagnostic medical sonography. Sanford-Brown partnered with New Zealand-based SIMTICS to co-develop this product to improve learning outcomes and help students meet the high standards of the healthcare industry.

The Simpro Virtual Trainer provides a new way for students to gain experience with key clinical procedures at any time. Sanford-Brown will use the virtual training system in 22 courses in 2010.

The new system breaks down each procedure into its component steps, requiring students to make decisions about what to do next, which instrument to use and where to apply it. This new learning tool will make procedures more accessible, helping students gain and retain critical information without being solely dependent on patient cases during their clinical experience. Because the system has been designed to support Sanford-Brown's specific curriculum, it will reinforce what students are learning in class, in text books and from instructors.
