Two-Day Electronics Recycling Drive Amasses More Than 304 Tons of Electronics
CREVE COEUR, MO (KTVI-FOX2now.com) - People came out in droves to drop off their old, no-longer-used electronics at one of the largest electronics recycling drives in the country on Nov. 8 and 9 at Congregation B'nai Amoona in Creve Coeur, Mo. The free event, made possible by Goodwill's participation, combined with great weather for perfect conditions at the two-day drive. More than 304 tons (26 trailers) of electronics were collected. That's twice as much as last year.

Congregation B'nai Amoona, the City of Creve Coeur and MERS/Goodwill teamed up to guarantee that all materials would be processed safely and that nothing would go to landfills.

Goodwill unofficially kicked off the drive on Friday, Nov. 6 at the Creve Coeur Government Center, where Creve Coeur government employees collected nearly one ton of electronics and office equipment. Sharon Summers, donation coordinator for MERS/Goodwill said Goodwill trucks would visit several other businesses that could not physically haul their donations to B'nai Amoona for the drive.

People can donate electronics items year-round to Goodwill. To find a Goodwill donation center near you, call 314-241-3464 or visit the Web site at www.mersgoodwill.org.
