ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI - FOX2now.com)—
A big water main break could lead to big traffic problems. A 15 inch water main ruptured in St. Louis overnight. It happened around 1:30 at the intersection of Jefferson and Pine. Within a few hours crews had cut the flow of water. People traveling in the area could have problems Friday.Northbound Jefferson will be down to one lane and Pine will be closed from Jefferson to one block east. Crews say it may take all day to make repairs. They think the water main may be 100 years old which is not unusual for some of the infrastructure in St. Louis. It's possible some businesses may not have water today. Water crews don't think there is a fire danger because nearby fire hydrants remain charged.
