The sounds of Christmas and the feel of September are mingling these days in November. The mild weather is now a backdrop for the spirit of Christmas. It's been one strange Autumn. "I'm dreaming of a White Christmas," rolls out of the radio on 100.3 and has been since November 1st. The sights and sounds of the season it's just not clear which season.

"On a day like today listening to Here Comes Santa Claus or Let it Snow and its 60 degrees outside," says golfer Kayla Eckelkamp.

"Having Christmas music and its 70 degrees outside people are out hitting balls in shorts it doesn't make a bit of sense," argues Carol Boggs.

Christmas music so early and Indian summer weather so late is a bit strange, as is canoeing on Creve Coeur Lake in shorts and short sleeves two weeks from Thanksgiving like Rich Wagner.

"Last time I was out here was the middle of the summer and I thought boy what a great way to spend a day," he says, "I wouldn't have thought November would be the same way."

Thankfully it is for Golfport's Carol Boggs especially after an October to forget: the wettest on record and the worst for business.

"Since we are a seasonal business and we lost all of October basically our corn maze was only open for three and a half days," says Boggs, "it's the worst October I remember and we have been here for thirty years."

Which is why she is enjoying one of the best Novembers.

"This is wonderful the months were almost reversed," Boggs says, "it's wonderful to see the sun people are anxious to get outside and do something."

As far as the Christmas music, KEZK started it's tradition a bit early after KATZ 100.3 switched. A format change is scheduled for what used to be "The Beat" but station managers aren't saying to what and are not even saying how long the Christmas music will stay.
