On-site registration begins at Clementine's at Menard and Allen in Soulard. Sponsored by Nestle Purina Beggin' Strips, the parade steps off at 1:00 p.m. from Clementine's and makes its way through Soulard concluding at Soulard Market Park. Animal participants are subject to the approval of Mardi Gras, Inc. and the St. Louis Department of Animal Control based on appropriateness, temperament and health.
Soulard Mardi Gras - PETsMART Wiener Dog Derby Date: 2/7/2010 Location: Soulard Market Park in the Historic Soulard Neighborhood AKA Wiener Stadium Cost: Free for observers; $10.00 per entrant Website: www.stlmardigras.org See some dashing daschunds during the annual Wiener Dog Derby. Registration is from 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the park followed by a Yappy Hour from 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. with the first heat taking place at 2:00 p.m. The dachunds race in three divisions based on age: Cocktail Wienies, Ballpark Franks and Hot Dogs. The finals are followed by the trophy presentation ceremony in the Wiener's Circle.
