St. Louis is opening its first language immersion schools, where young pupils will be welcoming visitors in French and Spanish. Students at the schools will be taught entirely in the foreign languages. The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education authorized the schools under a five-year charter sponsored by the University of Missouri- St. Louis. Tuition at the schools is free.
