St. Louis is hosting a memorial for the thousands lost to genocide in Africa. Volunteers at St. Pius the Fifth Catholic Church in South St. Louis, are prepping food to greet over 400 survivors of the genocide in a Congolese village in 2004. One survivor who lost family members and is paralyzed after being shot said this work is healing for him.The memorial starts at 10 a.m. Saturday and goes until 5 p.m. is in the Wool Ballroom of the St. Louis Auditorium at Busch Center. Events are free and open to the public.
