KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Three men accused in a foiled bank robbery in Kansas City, Kan., face federal charges.
Kenneth Rayford, Paul G. Rayford and Claude White each were charged Friday with attempted bank robbery and using a handgun to commit a bank robbery.
FBI agents received a tip and were waiting Thursday when White and Paul Rayford tried to enter the bank wearing body armor. Agents also recovered a Glock .40-caliber handgun during the arrest of the Kansas City, Kan., men.
Prosecutors said Kenneth Rayford of Overland Park was arrested during a nearby car stop.
If convicted, the men face a maximum penalty of 20 years and a fine up to $250,000 on the attempted robbery charge. They also face a penalty of not less than five years on the firearms charge.
