On this You Paid for It, a road project in St. Charles County on Towers Road. First, residents saw workers putting in a new intersection several years back. Now, the St. Charles County Highway Department is back out tearing part of the work right back out. Investigator Elliott Davis asked the head of the highway department for answers.
The St. Charles County Highway Department put in a new intersection a few years ago as part of a $5 million project. So imagine taxpayers surprise when the machines rolled out to tear out some of the work you paid to put it.
When asked why the intersection was being worked on, Craig Tajkowski is the head of the St. Charles County Highway Department says, "We're not redoing it we're doing an enhancement to it."
The enhancement work on the St. Charles road will cost you $72,000 bucks.
Tajkowski says, "We've had some contact with residents out in that area. They were concerned about some fender benders that were taking place."
