ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI - FOX2now.com) - One of Missouri's favorite daughter's will headline the largest free event of All-Star weekend. Sheryl Crow will play a free concert beneath the Arch Saturday night, and she's not lost on the meaning of that stage. She calls it a top twenty event in her life memories. "I get to play under the arch which is for me it's historical," she says. "I got to see Elton John play there when I was twenty and I've spent so many of my 4th of July's out here, and ya know it just represents so much to me."

She says that Elton John concert has stayed with her.

"It is one of my most vivid and most impactful memories. And the fact that small town, 3-1/2 hours from here, Southern Missouri gets to play on this stage, it's a huge deal for me."

Crow will also sing the National Anthem at the All-Star game. She says she fells at home around baseball, having bled red for decades.

"I got to meet Andy Van Slyke, and Willie McGee, and Ozzie Smith, and (I'm) just a big fan. And I lived in Georgetown Apartments right across the street from Whitey Herzog."

Crow, a breast cancer survivor, is also using the concert to raise money for cancer research. Major League Baseball is making a $1million donation to Stand Up For Cancer. She says, to her, that outshines pretty much everything about the weekend.

"Having gone through my own surge of cancer and having known so many people who have been diagnosed, or been treated, or who know people who are being treated, it's a very personal thing for me."

For those on a budget, the big concert is just one way to see a big star or two without spending big bucks.

The FanFest will host many baseball icons throughout the weekend, but the $30 price tag is a little steep for some. The Cardinals Team Store in the old Bowling Hall of Fame building will also be hosting autograph sessions.

If you really want to get aggressive, you might want to consider hanging out around some of Downtown's upscale hotels.

At the Four Seasons, General Manager Thierry Kennel won't name any names regarding famous guests.

"Unfortunately we can't. We'd love to. I could certainly tell you if you came up, had a drink you might run into somebody."

On Locust Street, at Jim Edmonds' 15 Restaurant, they'll be hosting two star studded parties. On Monday, the Major League Baseball Players Association will be throwing a private bash that might be worth camping across the street for.

"All the players and their wives are supposed to be here. Bud Selig's slated to be here. Some of the players agents are gonna be here," 15 co-owner Mark Winfield says.

On Tuesday, Hanley Ramirez of the Marlins, and Evan Longoria of the Rays are hosting a bash for their charities. It's the only player party that's open to the public. A ten dollar donation at the door is all it costs.

The weekend will be filled with people looking for big names. Even Sheryl Crow confesses she's got a "must-see."

"Pujols!," she screamed. "Absolutely."
