ST. LOUIS (AP) — Second-year receiver Keenan Burton is making positive strides for the St. Louis Rams, who face the undefeated New Orleans Saints this weekend.
As a weekly team captain for the Rams against Detroit, Burton responded by tying his career high with five catches and establishing a career high with 54 yards. The Rams snapped a 17-game losing streak with a 17-10 road win.
After the season-ending injury to Laurent Robinson in Week 3, Burton moved into the starting lineup. Since then, he has 25 receptions for 253 yards.
He has led the receivers in three of the five games in catches since he became a starter. Burton has five or more catches in three of his past four games.
