    On Monday, January 16, the country will pause to honor the legacy of slain civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. All federal, state, county, city offices and services, including the U.S. Post Office will be closed in observance. The holiday honors the birthday of the civil rights leader, which is actually Jan. 15. It is observed on the third Monday of January each year.
